To Other Works

  • Miss Information was known as The Assistant during Playtesting. This was a bit of a 'miss information' ... Kickstarter Update
  • Miss Information was a 60k stretch reward for the Shattered Timelines Kickstarter. "Aminia Twain is actually the second place winner from our Create a Villain contest, though it was a tentative victory as it wouldn't happen if we didn't hit this Stretch Reward! So, you can all thank Ashley Wagner for her fantastic concept" (Christopher, >G) Kickstarter Update

Edit this Clarification

Fireside Chats

  • "Explosion" in the Lab card text is updated to replace "hero" with "player".
  • An Isolated Hero cannot deal damage to or be dealt damage by any other hero.
  • Hero cards that look for the highest/lowest HP target will ignore hero targets belonging to an Isolated Hero. For example, if Smoke Bombs is in play, it will look for the highest or lowest HP hero targets that do not belong to an Isolated Hero.
  • If GI Bunker uses his innate power on a target, and an Isolated Hero deals damage to that target, the damage is not made irreducible.
  • If The Wraith is the only hero target and Smoke Bombs is in play, it does not redirect the damage, but still reduces damage dealt to the Wraith by 1. This also happens if The Wraith is an Isolated Hero.
  • Mr. Fixer is an Isolated Hero and plays Grease Gun. When a non-hero target tries to deal damage to a hero target, and cannot, this does not count as “affecting another hero."
  • When “Isolated Hero” is on a Sentinel, it does not isolate that Sentinel from the other Sentinels. But it does isolate the Sentinels as a whole from the other heroes. The Sentinels are a team, through and through.
  • If there is an Isolated Hero and they discard a card to redirect damage from Abject Refugees, they cannot redirect it to other heroes. Another hero cannot discard to redirect to an Isolated Hero.

VotM Deck

  • If damage is redirected by Heroes Unallied but then reduced to 0 by a damage reducing effect, Heroes Unallied will be destroyed, because the hero target would have dealt damage in the first place.
  • The text of Heroes Unallied is updated to read “Whenever a hero target would deal damage, redirect that damage to the hero target with the highest HP.”
  • Altered Fates activates when one-shots are played (like Surprise Shopping Trip).
  • Heartbreaker's damage increase effect expires if the card leaves play or the game.
  • The “then” clause on Internal Collapse happens after the “destroy this card” condition has been met. If Internal Collapse didn’t get destroyed for some reason, then the “then” clause doesn’t occur.

Spiff's Clarifications

Miss Information is not a target on her “Demure Office Worker” side

  • Miss Information has no HP on her “Demure Office Worker” side, which means that she’s not a target when on this side and can’t be damaged or affected by cards which require a target. Once Miss Information flips to her "Revealed Saboteur” side, she has a HP value so she can be targeted then.

Revealed Saboteur reactive damage effect

  • On Miss Information’s “Revealed Saboteur” side, she has an effect which says, “the first time a hero target deals damage to Miss Information each turn, she deals that target (H)-2 psychic damage.” as covered in the “the first time a target does xyz…” topic in the “other” section of this document, this effect is triggered the first time Miss Information is dealt damage per target, per turn. so, if two different targets damage Miss Information in a turn, the effect will trigger each time, but if a single target damages her twice in the same turn, the effect will only trigger once. “They… didn’t save me."

The darkness closed in around her, pressing, crushing, choking. Aminia felt blind panic, like shadowed hands squeezing her desperately thudding heart up again her ribs and then— nothing. Darkness. Silence. And one thought: “They didn’t save me.”

Suddenly, the light hit her eyelids with searing brightness as she snapped into life with a jolt. She gasped for air. “Ms. Twain? Are you alright?” Dr. Stinson asked quickly. “Hiccups?” Mr. Parsons asked in his usual, genial manner. She felt her stomach churn - how did she ever find that phony charisma so charming? She smiled weakly and nodded, feigning another hiccup, before excusing herself from the meeting for a cup of water. Shutting the door behind her, she melted, stunned, on the other side of the wall. The meeting continued on within the room behind her - they didn’t even notice her absence.

What happened? Her eyes darted around the familiar headquarters of the Freedom Five, but not everything seemed like how she’d left it. Things were different. She was different. She had died. The darkness had lifted to unveil a changed world. Or perhaps, perhaps only she had changed? She went to the sink to fill the “World’s Finest Assistant" mug Dr. Stinson gave her three years before they let her die. The handle had yet to crack.

This world was most definitely different than the one she left, but no difference cast such a stark contrast as the difference she felt inside. No longer was she the devoted, sheepish secretary who alerted the Freedom Five to where trouble emerged, who placed orders for Tachyon’s many pairs of new footwear, who copied memos from the president, who washed sweaty spandex uniforms. Now, she was awake.

Aminia straightened up her jacket and opened the door to return to the job she perfected in her previous life. No longer would she skip date night to remove every fleck of red dust from their precious equipment. Nor would she lose sleep worrying about the calls she would make to loved ones with bad news after a battle. For never again would she shed a tear for the Freedom Five. No. For now, all she heard amid the cheer of the grateful crowds and the praise of the adoring public was that one final thought. They had a choice - me, their devoted servant, who gave EVERYTHING … or five total strangers.

“They didn’t save me.”

“Can they save themselves?”

Miss Information Team Villain Standard Front.png

Aminia Twain was the administrative assistant for the Freedom Five for many years, before she was replaced by a version of herself from an alternate dimension. This new version "fell" through the space/time rift when she died, a death which she felt was the fault of her employers: the Freedom Five. Thus, this new, darker, jaded Aminia Twain begain exacting her revenge. However, there was one who saw through her schemes and realized the truth almost immediately: the hero known as Parse. Because of her uncanny ability to see the truth and the flaws of things, she could tell that Aminia Twain was, in fact, the elusive villain know as Miss Information! In a showdown between Parse and Miss Information in the Pike Chemical Plant, a vat of dangerous, untested chemicals was broken, burning and sweeping Aminia away through chemical drains. Her body was never recovered. Now, Miss Information has returned. She no longer fights against the heroes from within the safety of Freedom Tower. Rather, she uses her new unpredictable powers of twisting reality itself to destroy and subvert, and to turn the heroes against each other.
